Pinktec Computer Services was founded by Kim Taylor. Kim is a tech-savvy entrepeneur that started programming in high school at a time when computers were not yet a household item. She began her career in the travel industry but continued her computer education as technology evolved. She graduated from the University of Victoria with core skills in systems analysis, data communication, networking, database concepts, security, web maintenance & design but was most intrigued in computer security. Security has become a very huge issue due to the popularity of the Internet. She started off by helping friends and family with technology issues but quickly realized that the problem was beginning to escalate with many new users purchasing computers with no or very little training. She then created a very successful free personal computer security website called Sunshadowz. After leaving her lengthy marketing & technology career in the airline industry to do private corporate information technology security consulting, she was still longing for a fresh business idea that could make a difference. Then one day she had an "Ah Ha Moment" that Oprah's always talking about. Helping all users struggling to juggle computer maintenance, security and privacy concerns is the answer. Another hurdle is to create awareness with new users that regular maintenance and security is a requirement in order to protect both equipment as well as personal safety. Questions such as: "How big is your cyber footprint?", "How often do you scan your computer?" and "Do you have unwelcome squatters living in your computer?" Many individual and small business users are looking for help but it can be very difficult finding the answers online when the questions may not be obvious. Our goal is to help women of all ages feel more comfortable with computer training & support by providing them quality assistance from a female lead company. Of course, we welcome the guys too. Kim Has also completed training in Computer Forensic Examinations.
